Concept

Reflecting on the world around me, I find glimpses of revitalizing life. As a casual birdwatcher, I view particular species as ‘good luck’ omens. This block-printed tile design is a memorialization of my love for the natural world. Folksy botanicals and delicate mark reference ornamental toile and rustic countryside aesthetics.

Craft Exploration

The designs were drafted with ink and carved onto two square blocks of linoelum with small gouges. Through the process of inking and printing, the pattern is transferred onto fabric.
