Client Brief

It's finally time for fall, and the Old Navy woman knows it's time to stock up on a new flannel or two. Often on the go, she knows that Old Navy has the essential pieces to keep her wardrobe fresh. Whether she's with family, friends, or on a solo adventure, she'll keep it cool and casual. No matter what the day brings, she'll be ready for it!
This Fall '23 Women's collection shares the autumnal spirit through cozy plaid, feminine florals, and embroidered details. No matter the task, Old Navy's clothes are the perfect backdrop for her busy life.

Research

Looking at competitors, aspirational sources, and Old Navy merchandise, I put together resource boards to guide trend research. A store visit to Old Navy visualized merchandising, while a website visit allowed me to browse all recent designs.

Process

In my sketchbook, I began with a planning page to get initial thoughts on paper. I created a list of tasks, a timeline, and took notes about my ideas. As I analyzed the trend landscape, I created an inital color chart of popular hues I saw. Through this, I narrowed down elements to paint such as the gouche Echinacea flowers.
